When there are so many preparations going on for the common Wealth games, starting from the infrastructure to the transportation then how can we forget to have a theme song for the biggest event that our country is going to host. Of course I am talking about the theme song for the Common Wealth Games, like the one we had “Waka Waka” for the Soccer world cup and it did wonders. And if we are talking about the theme song then it has to be the best and obviously from the best. The theme song is composed Mr. Rehman, yes I am talking about the musical Maestro A. R. Rehman. The song is “Oh yaaro, yeh India bula liya”.
The message behind the song is a request to everyone to do their best to show India in a positive light in front of the world. “I feel honoured to get the opportunity to compose the theme song for the mega-event. It was not an easy task. I had started composing it six months ago and finished just last night,” Rehman said. The song of Common Wealth Games 2010 is launched after it was heard and approved by the Group of Ministers (GoM) at a meeting, which was held on Sunday. The theme song is directed by Shyam Benegal and produced by Bharat Bala. The Urban Development Minister S. Jaipal is the head of the GoM and was part of the testing committee. Though the song is approved but it is approved by the GoM on their own principles. “A well beginning is the half job done. Now onwards you will listen this song day in and day out. It is the first move towards a great Commonwealth Games, which we had promised years back,” Kalmadi said.
